Roatan Bay Honduras
What a postcard picture perfect island. Its famed barrier reef which is the second largest in the world offers a world-class snorkeling and diving experience.
The water is so clear that you can see the smallest colors on the fish. I wish we had taken underwater pictures because we brought our GoPro, but our eyes were occupied capturing all the breathtaking and unbelievable marine life surrounding us that we didn’t even bother using it.
I hired a private tour from Roatan Private Trips and Tours. They offer the following activities:
- Private Island Tours, Mangrove tunnel, Sightseeing, Culture, History
- Beach, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Scuba Diving, Para-Sailing, Glass Bottom Boat
- Zip-lining, ATVs, Shopping, Local Dining and Photo stops and more
I scheduled my trip with Steve via email and told him everything I wanted to explore within a short period of time – drive around the island, taste some local rum and chocolates, play with the iguanas, souvenirs and of course ocean activities.
Jonathan was our tour guide. First of all, he speaks fluent English, and that was a BIG PLUS! He was very polite and prioritized our safety. He even opened and closed the door for us at all times. He was knowledgeable of the island, and gave us a lot of privacy to enjoy our activities and didn’t rush us at all. We were able to accomplish everything on my “want” list that kept expanding like I was staying there for a week, but he made it all possible.
What I love about Roatan Private Trips and Tours is the wonderful things they do for the community. His company helps and supports a local outreach to street kids in a poor community on the island through putting kids to school and playing soccer. The method of payment is simple, just email them what you want, and there’s no booking fee. You pay them in person after completed all your fun activities. Also you can pay them in kind, anything that would benefit their outreach program.
